Facebook. Finally I signed up after a few years of people drilling me to join. Now I want ten thousand friends. Why not? I can brag to my college daughter that I got more friends than her!
I want ten thousand friends, these are the ways I've found out to get YOU there. Read on!

Ten Thousand Reasons
- Become more popular. Your old school friends probably have 500 - 1000 friends. You can say "I got ten thousand!"
- You'll be getting friend requests everyday in the hundreds, all because you are showing up on so many pages.
- You have a Hubpage you want to promote and wished you had alot of friends to go and view it. If only you had ten thousand friends.
- You have an affiliate product or business you wanna promote but you need PEOPLE to make sales.
- You can't afford to advertise on google adwords or similar pay-per-click programs.
- You want to have loads of friends so you can sell your profile on ebay for easy money. I've heard of one that sold for £2000 on ebay.
- You want to sell links on your profile. Businesses and websites will pay you to post a link to your site provided you have alot of traffic.
- You are an actor/musician and you want to advertise your gigs.
- You wanna see your web traffic rise
- You "just want" ten thousand friends!
1 - The quickest way to get ten thousand friends is add friends, make comments, bulletins and messages.
- add friends with every opportunity you can. Give yourself a daily target like 20 or so
- write on your friends wall, comment on photos and videos. Try and build a genuine relationship, you gotta keep them coming
- send interesting bulletins but not too often
- always accept the suggested friends. Its a great tool so why not make use of it?
2 - Using Face book buttons
Are you a blogger? Are you a hubber? Do you use twitter?
Always use your add me link and facebook buttons to let people add you.
Alot of people on Facebook and this can increase your friend count if used in a few places.
3 - Joining Groups on Facebook
Joining groups on Facebook is real good way to get found on Facebook. There is even a few hubber groups on Facebook. I've started one called "Get Ten Thousand Friends on Facebook". I made it a few minutes ago so you could be one of the first to join!
4 - Start your own Groups
Starting your own groups on Facebook is a good way of getting interaction and getting people to NOTICE YOU on Facebook.
What are your true reasons for signing up? Go and start a group on the topic, you'll be surprised how many people have the same motive!
5 - Use your invite link
Just like Twitter, Hubpages and Myspace, not everyone is a member of Facebook. You should get all your friends who arent members to join. If they use your invite link, they will automatically become your friend!
6 - Post comments on other popular profiles
Sometimes you'll find profiles with thousands of friends and you think "Damn!, how many people add him a day!........?
7 - Use your add me link
Go to Facebook and find your "add me" link.
Right click the link and select "Copy shortcut" for Internet Explorer, "Copy link location" for Firefox, "Copy link address" for Google Chrome.Now go to tinyurl.com and paste that link to "make url tiny". You should now have a much shorter link. You can use it in your signature for your email footers.

Its easy Immartin! Just post stuff on your wall and make comments on your friends newly uploaded pictures. That's what I do, people seem to keep you as a friend if you tell them that they look nice in a picture!

Like some of these ideas - rated up and bookmarked. Let’s face it!!! :-) Facebook cannot be ignored as it is great way to get your message out to large numbers of people. I think it’s a good policy to build a separate network of 'business' friends and a 'family and friends' so I have two separate accounts. One whom I share personal stuff with the other I share business stuff with (I also have a linked in for straight professional networking).
You need to be careful when adding friends on Facebook as any more than 50 per day and they will ban you and shut your account down. What a bummer that would be after a lot of work to build it!!!
Another thing to be careful of is that if you create a 'button' to add you and put it on your web page, you know this kind of thing:

This results in a message to the effect that it could be considered abusive so the best policy is not to put these links on your web page or hub.

Be careful what you wish for, back in the days of MySpace I remember browsing profiles wanting thousands of friends, mainly I wanted people to hear my music... Eventually I took the leap, I went from quiet to outgoing, just commenting on everything, responding to everyone, really taking the time to answer all questions, etc, every status update was designed to get inside people's heads and linger there, adding people like you wouldn't believe. it wasn't more than 3 days before I was in the thousands, everybody really liked my music, I could not have asked for better feedback, it was perfect... But like everything in life things get old and boring, repetitive. Everytime I would log in I would have 300+ messages and this was back before it was all spam like it is now. My success became a nightmare, I had people mad at me because I wouldn't respond to them at he speed they were accustomed to, which was a turn off, you notice them moving you around in top friends, ugh.. I used my MySpace notoriety as a springboard to launch a YouTube page, worked incredibly well. But by now I had haters that were OBSESSED with every move I made because my music was getting the desired feedback which later led to them creating fake YouTube accounts leaving horrendous comments which I would be able overlook except I knew who was doing it no matter how clever he thought he was -- knowing your "friend" was lying right to you will make you want to spit in anger, acting like he had no idea when we both knew. Youtube page suspended/terminated, I had a nice amount of subscribers growing steadily, 3000+ hits daily, well on my way. The success from that led to one of them reporting me on Soundclick getting me under review for supposed copyright infringements which hurt my income, this is after paying the subscription fee for 3 years. It's all just a game of tag, "play my song and I'll play yours, like my page and I'll like yours", nothing will really be heard and all you'll end up with is a mess. It is all a meager way to boost your self-confidence by seeking approval from random people who are all doing EXACTLY the same thing, you've been warned.

I love this Hub because you showed me a reason that I need more friends on Facebook, I never sought friends on facebook because I thought it would be too "comebersome" to add so many people, having to answer them all the time, but if they have a way to access my Hubs, it would be worth the added attention to return mail and requests each day.
